Janice Harden: Treasurer (23/24) - Former President (21/22 and 22/23)

Hi! I am Janice Harden. I am excited to be Treasurer for Leggee PTA in 23-24.

My family has lived in Huntley about 8 years now and I work as a Sr. Manager in the Risk Advisory Practice for Wipfli, an accounting firm. I am also lucky enough to be the mom of 3 energetic boys. My oldest is a freshman at HHS, middle is a 6th grader at MMS and my youngest is in 4th grade at Leggee in the dual language program. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Rosie doing just about anything! I am excited to work with our Leggee family to make this year fantastic for everyone!

Kimberly Hillebrand: Chairperson – Community/School Events

Hello, my name is Kim Hillebrand. My husband and I have lived in Huntley for over 13 years. We will have 2 daughters at Leggee this year, 4th grade and Kindergarten. We also have a 3 month old son.  This is my 4th year involved with Leggee PTA. I enjoy working with the Leggee community, in my spare time, to plan events and activities for all. I have also been a team player with social media and communications to share everything about our PTA. Outside of my volunteer roles with the PTA, I am a Financial Advisor. My family and I enjoy traveling and participating in community activities.

While Kim is the Chairperson for all these amazing activities, it takes a village to assist with this all and be able to make our Leggee Community have a great year. Reach out to info@leggeepta.org to LEAD, ASSIST or Volunteer for any/all events below:

• Kindergarten (New Leopard Welcome): Responsible for working with all the D158 Elementary PTAs to obtain and distribute the annual Kindergarten T-shirts

• Back to School Volunteer: Purple Sash Volunteers & Kindergarten Lunch Helpers - Organizing Volunteers to be there the first few days to assist or leopards into their Dens and helping the youngest Leopards at lunchtime

• Back to School Magnet: Designing, ordering and distribution of our annual back to school magnet

• Variety Show: Typically in January/February - where our 3rd - 5th graders can show off their talents to the Leggee Community

• Fifth Grade Send Off: A way to say Congratulations to our fifth graders at the end of the year

• Field Day: Typically held towards the end of the year in collaboration with the PE Department

Jamie Steere: Chairperson – Fundraising and Membership

Jamie here! I’m happy to be joining the executive board this year, it’s my second year on the PTA. I’m a parent of 3 kids, two current Leggee Leopards entering Kindergarten and Second Grade this year, and a future leopard who is entering the ECC for her first year as a Porcupine but will be at Leggee in two more years!

I’m a long term Stay at Home Parent and Stagehand at The Raue Center, as well as an alumni of HHS as well as the old Huntley grade schools and middle school that aren’t around anymore. We’re an outdoorsy and artistic household and are looking forward to having a blast with Fun Run, the Craft Fair, and bringing in new PTA members to help all our kids have the best possible time they can!

• Membership: Responsible for recruitment of members on an annual basis. PTA membership fees are $11.00 parent and $7.00 for teacher/staff school admin.   Come join the PTA to see what it is all about

• Start of the Year - OPEN HOUSE:  Responsible for assisting in the PTA membership table at Open house. 

• FUN RUN:  THIS IS OUR BIGGEST FUNDRAISER and the reason we can help pay for field trips, assemblies and many other amazing events at Leggee!  This event is typically held in September.  The Committee work to get sponsorships from tons of local businesses and really get our little Leopards excited about their fun run - earning tons of prizes for raising funds. Fun Run planning usually begins in June for the fall fun-run.

• Annual Craft Fair: Usually held in November at the Huntley High School (Tons of volunteer assistance needed!!) Reach out to leggeecraftfair@gmail.com for more information

• Dine-Out Nights: A great way for all families to be involved in giving back to Leggee PTA! There are several nights scheduled throughout the academic year at various restaurants / locations that support Leggee PTA and its mission. Leggee PTA receives a previously determined percentage of sales for any given event - which is then used to support various PTA sponsored events and offset those costs.

• Spirit Wear:  Responsible to work with our vendor for the Spring and Fall Spiritwear sales. 

• Market Day: Just order your Market Day favorites and have them delivered right to your home!  

• Box Tops/Amazon Smile - Responsible for keeping track of the box tops fundraising and amazon smile funds. Don’t forget to link your amazon smile account to the PTA.  Download the Box Tops App and upload your receipts for ease! 

• Volunteer Chair:  Responsible for recruiting volunteers at all of our PTA events.  We can’t run the events without the help of volunteers. While it is encouraged, you don’t have to be a member to volunteer

Denise Zamudio: Chairperson – Student Learning Activities

HI, My name is Denise Zaumdio. I've volunteered to help with the school assemblies. My family and I moved to the Huntley school district in feb 2020. My husband and I own our own real estate company, and my husband is also a Pingree Grove Firefighter/EMT. I have 2 sons, Carlo who is in 4th grade at Leggee and Nikolas who is in 1st grade.

• Assemblies: A great way to help our Leopards learn in new/exciting ways. We work to have an assembly for each grade and whole school (if possible)

• Targeted Assemblies: Music Opera and Library Assemblies

• Field Trips: We work to plan and secure a field trip for each grade

• Fifth Grade Puberty Talk: We work to ensure this much-needed discussion occurs for our 5th grade Leopards
