Box Tops

BOX TOP UPDATE!!  We are doing great but could do better!  Please continue clipping those box tops – every top is worth 10 cents which goes to help fund programs at Leggee.  They add up, so don’t overlook them!  You can print out a box top sheet from the link below or just put them in a baggie with the count written on the outside!  Please include your child’s name & teacher along with the count number when turning them in.  We’d love to receive them monthly, so send them in by February 27th so we can count ‘em up and sent ‘em out!  Thanks for your ongoing support!

PTA Meeting Schedule

Tuesday, March 11th at 7:00 pm

April 8th @ 9:00 am*
May 13th @ 7:00 pm

All meetings are held in the Leggee Elementary Cafeteria

*~please feel free to bring little ones to the meetings, including the morning ones!

All of the PTA Board positions are up for nomination (we serve one year terms per our by-laws so each year we vote on the board positions).  Interested in making a difference – join the PTA!!!  It’s easy, it’s fun and it helps all our kids.  It’s as easy as having someone nominate you or you nominating someone you think would be a good fit.  The positions are:  President, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary.  I’ve learned a lot, made great friends and have loved every minute of what I do!  We are looking for a nominating chairperson – someone to direct email nominations to and forward on to the current board for the March Meeting.  We will elect officers at the April meeting.  Please contact me at president@leggeepta.org for more details on positions or the nominating process.

Many of you expressed interest in a “boys” running program simaliar to the “Girls on the Run” program currently at our Elementary schools.  We’ll it’s here but we need coaches!!! The program is called “Let me Run”.   Please let me know if you are interested in coaching and getting this program up and running at Leggee.  This is not a PTA sponsored event but I am pleased to pass the word on and will help you get the information out.  Should you accept this challenge, you do need to attend a training session (mandatory) and you will be running it at our school.  Here is the info you need to know:

Hello future coaches and those interested in Let Me Run,

I wanted to let all of you know that Let Me Run will have another coaches training in the Chicago area on March 1.  It will be in Schaumburg, IL and you can register for this free coaches training on our website.  Let Me Run did have three schools in the Chicago area participate this past fall and we want that to continue to grow.

Let me know if you have any further questions about Let Me Run or the upcoming training.
